The Kia Stinger Getting Axed for 2022?

The Kia Stinger is reportedly ceasing production of all new model years in 2022, where the plant that the Stinger is currently being built plans to convert to building hybrid minivans instead. This may surprise some viewers, but unfortunately the Stinger has had pretty low sales.
The Kia Stinger is a car many car enthusiasts wanted but didn't buy. Featuring a twin turbocharged V6 engine with 368 horsepower this is something that can definitely be considered a sporty sedan. With the addition of standard rear-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive this definitely offers more direct steering and less understeer than a front wheel drive car. Also the 376 pound feet of torque all the way down at 1300 RPM makes this car extremely fun even in taller gears. That being said, unfortunately the car doesn't come with a manual gearbox option with only an 8 speed automatic being available. However, that isn't the big of a deal when less than 10% of new cars sold in America are with a standard gearbox.
From a technical perspective, the car is also impressive with a wireless phone charger, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a 10.25 inch touchscreen display. Surround view and blind spot monitoring are also available on the GT2 trim. a HUD for the driver is also available with memory seats and steering wheel so multiple drivers can easily find the most comfortable driving position quickly. Even life saving technology like automatic braking, driver attention warning, and blind spot monitoring are available on this car. So what went wrong?
Unfortunately the problem is that nobody wants to drop fifty thousand dollars on a Kia. Kia has not gained the reputation in the USA of being a luxury car brand, so many people have a hard time dropping a significant amount of money on the vehicle. No matter how good the car is, people just couldn't get past the Kia logo on the car.
