Hunt: Showdown's new map DeSalle

This past Friday the developers behind Hunt: Showdown hosted a developer stream going over the new map and on that same day made the map publicly available through the test servers.

This map is a step away from the previous two maps which focused on the Louisiana bayou and instead is stylized off of the mid-west. Through their previous maps they learned that water was just dead space and players would never touch those portions of the map covered in water, that is why this new map uses water as nothing more than an obstacle.

The new compounds are gorgeous and place an emphasis on verticality, which we rarely saw on the old maps, see this prison compound for example. It has massive sight lines across the map and is isolated on an island making extremely advantageous to hold during a fight. At the same time the cliff faces and rock mounds give attacking players plenty of opportunity to close the gap.

We also see for the first time more building dense locations, giving player lots of different flanking routes and forcing close quarter gunfights.

With this update players are finally receiving a new map after nearly 3 years with just 2 and we couldn't be more excited.
