Recently, the government announced that it would release a cybersecurity strategy by the end of the year. At the prime minister's office, the National Cybersecurity Coordinator, Gen. Rajesh Pant, said this week that the government is apt to release a new cybersecurity strategy before 2022. Pant announced that the strategy would encompass India's complete cyberspace ecosystem. He told the people regarding the public affairs of India his goal of the strategy was to ensure a safe cyberspace setting. His vision was to use it to provide a foundation for tackling all cyberspace phases, whether national resource data, or a cyber audit, or building indigenous aptitudes. Arising out of this strategy, he stated, are approximately 80 odd deliverables. 'Cyber Security in the New Normal' was the PAFI Dialogue theme.
Also, the pandemic has increased the number of openings for hackers to infiltrate information in India. As a result, unlike other countries, India's systems are not the best in defending its country. Consequently, this has also rapidly exponentially expanded the threat surface of cyber-criminals. Hackers have made India one of the top three globally infiltrated countries, and the pandemic has made the cyber-crimes progress in India by 500%, a vast amount.
Expanding to such a considerable percentage has made them more in a demand outlook for robust defenses. Cybersecurity in India must be a vital service with exceptional protection, defense, and cybersecurity agents. Pant said that unlike other nations in India creating black-listed companies that cannot work in the country, India is the one nation that has a safelist of companies authorized to work in India.
