The 2022 Honda Civic

The redesigned Honda Civic for 2022 is probably one of the most attainable cars that this blog has ever mentioned. Starting at the low price $21,700, this car is definitely something many people will go out and buy. Perhaps the most noticeable change from last year's model would be the exterior features of the car including a more refined front and rear end of the car, with the addition of more sloping side body lines. The new civic also retains its great gas milage at an impressive 31 city and 40 highway miles per gallon. Performance wise, the car does get a boost in power, now making up to 180 horsepower from a turbocharged four cylinder engine on its higher trims, and 158 horsepower on its lower trims. Most people buy an automatic, so it is no surprise to see that the Continuously Variable Transmission is still present with its smooth acceleration (over something like a Dual Clutch Transmission). For these automatic models, paddle shifters are present on all trims of the car giving the driver a greater sense of control. The three drive modes present in the car (ECO, Standard, Sport) also give the driver the ability to either save gas or drive more spiritedly. Something interesting to note is that the tachometer and speedometer are completely electronic, allowing for the driver to customize their interface.

Technology wise, the civic is still as impressive as its other years, containing great sound quality in its 12 speaker Bose system, and being fully compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Honda also provides blind spot monitoring, a rear view camera, and other amenities that wouldn't be common in a car at this price point a few years ago. The car also has lane keep assist, and can provide steering input if you drift too much. Overall this is a great car packed with both affordable performance and technology.
