Virtual Reality Helping Mental Health

Advancement in virtual reality are being applied to the field to aid in the mental health of those in the air force. They are putting them in virtual environments which are then altered by their emotions to help decrease their stress. The company that is taking charge of this is Healium. The hopeful outcome of this project is to decrease the number of suicides in the military. Along with the benefit of improving their wellbeing. It is interesting that the virtual environment is controlled by the emotions and stress of the individual which are detected by brainwave patterns. This ensures the help is tailored to the individual.
