Starting last Thursday with the Summer Game Fest hundreds of games have been getting their time to shine in the lime-light. It is the week of E3 when game development studios and publishers all come together to host major announcement events which are broadcast to Twitch and YouTube for their audiences to watch. At the time of writing this most of the event has already passed, but you can still catch the rest of the streams through E3 Countdown.
As for who has already shared their new games, Xbox and Bethesda revealed more about their leading titles Halo Infinite and Starfield. Halo got a release window of Holiday 2021 while Starfield got a set date for 11-11-22. During the same conference the previously announced game Battlefield 2042 revealed their new gameplay through a new trailer. Ubisoft revealed Rainbow 6 Extraction and provided more information about their next instalment to the Farcry series, Farcry 6. Devolver Digital and IGN revealed dozens of Indie titles between them. The PC Gaming Show and the Future Games Show followed suit and revealed even more Indie titles that will be coming out in the next few years.
From June 16 to June 22 many of these indie games that have gotten revealed will have gameplay demos available to play through Steam Next Fest. Anyone with a steam account and a compatible system will be allowed to download any of the available gameplay demos and experience what there is to offer.
As for the publishers not participating this year, Sony has chosen not to have any event at all while EA has chosen to host their event, EA Play, next month on July 22. I am expecting to hear even more about Battlefield 2042, Skate, Anthem 2.0, and their selection of sports games.
