Women in Tech on LinkedIn posted a global movement called stop language bias using the hashtag #stoplanguagebias
The campaign is to help people become more aware of the unconscious damaging language used in the workforce. All the comments on the video show a lot of support for the movement. One commenter says, "Brilliant message …. I can’t even begin to count the number of times language bias and comments are made about women that would never be considered or commented on it if it had been a man!" The video used to show this movement shows what women would be called in the workforce and then what it really is. For example, one part of the video says, "I am not aggressive, I am assertive." It has many different analogies and comparisons in the video and in honesty, it's very eye-opening. For anyone who hasn't checked out this movement needs to hop on it. The movement brings out real-world unconscious language that every woman in any industry male-orientated has heard. This brings up the song from Taylor Swift called The Man. She writes, "If I was out flashing my dollars, I'd be a bitch, not a baller, They paint me out to be bad, So it's okay that I'm mad."
